Diagnostic test performed at home by the patient.
A continuous positive pressure apparatus with automatic titration (dose-ranging study) will apply – through the mask - a variable positive pressure to adapt to your needs during sleep.
The respiratory therapist will give you – at a prior meeting - the necessary explanations to perform the test properly at home.
When is this procedure indicated?
When obstructive sleep apnea has been diagnosed, this therapeutic procedure can determine the level of pressure to be programmed for treatment with the CPAP apparatus.
This test cannot be used to diagnose sleep apnea. The home test should not be used by a confused patient who is incapable of handling the equipment.
